Williams is committed to partnering with organizations that work to improve the communities where we operate and our employees live.
Williams currently partners with seven adopt-a-schools across the country. Williams employees in Salt Lake City have worked with their adopt-a-school over the past 14 years. Employees volunteer on a weekly basis by helping teachers with classroom assignments, reading with children or participating in school activities. Each year, employees work with the school to set goals and identify new projects that will improve the school and its students, but also will include lots of employee involvement.
Williams supports the United Way every year by raising funds that will benefit the communities where we live, work and serve.
Pledging for employees, retirees and board members runs from August 1 to November 1 each year. Donations up to $25,000 are eligible to be matched to United Way organizations located in areas of Williams operation and expansion.
We believe in the mission of the United Way — bringing people and organizations together to drive lasting change and results around the country and the world.
The United Way’s goal is to improve education, financial stability and health to strengthen the foundation for individual and collective success. This is a bold goal, but with the help of our employees, we achieve amazing results year after year.
Williams supports over 200 local area United Way Agencies through our efforts company-wide. Employees around the country take part in local campaigns by visiting United Way agencies, organizing fundraisers and pledging money.
Last year, Williams campaign raised more than $5.8 million for United Way agencies across the country. Also, it was the 25th consecutive year, we raised more than $1 million for the Tulsa Area United Way. Many of our locations have earned Best Practice Awards for their office campaigns.
Our partnership with the United Way is one of many ways that we take a leadership role in driving sustainable change through collaboration with strong community partners.
Employee-Driven Giving Programs
Williams employees support our communities using their time and treasure. Williams supports them through employee-driven grant programs and strategic giving that benefits the communities where we operate. Two examples of our giving programs that employees can use include:
Matching Gifts Program
Williams’ Matching Gifts program takes employees’ community contributions and doubles the impact. Gifts of $25 or more to eligible 501(c)(3) organizations are matched dollar-for-dollar, up to $10,000 per employee or board member and up to $5,000 per retiree, annually.
Homegrown Giving Program
The Homegrown Giving Program provides a resource for employees – involved in local non-profit organizations and schools – to identify ways to positively impact their communities. Because every community has unique needs, Homegrown Giving is geared for operating support, specific projects, sponsorships and education programs that benefit a Williams community. Donations range in dollar amounts from $100 to $5,000.
